About CoterieLabs

Daniel Pi

Co-founder, CoterieLabs

Daniel spent twenty years in corporate finance and investment management — advising on M&A transactions, capital raisings, and strategic growth across the Asia-Pacific region. That work showed him a consistent pattern: small and mid-sized businesses sitting on operational data they never use, leaving measurable value on the table every quarter. CoterieLabs exists to close that gap — bringing the same rigour of financial due diligence to AI implementation, so owner-operators can see exactly where the numbers move before committing a dollar to technology.

Background

Daniel is the Founder and Managing Director of Coterie Capital, where he works with entrepreneurs, founders, and family offices across Australia and Asia to accelerate growth through M&A, capital raising, and strategic advisory. With over 20 years of investment and financial markets experience across the Asia-Pacific region, he has led complex transactions spanning Technology, Agriculture, FMCG, Basic Materials, Building Materials, Chemicals, Media, and Tourism & Leisure.

Selected transactions

  • Advised RedEarth Energy Storage on its $40M reverse takeover of Health and Plant Protein Group Limited, supporting access to public capital markets for scalable battery storage solutions across residential, commercial, and industrial sectors
  • Structured and advised on a $30M warehouse facility for PaySure, an Australian fintech offering deferred and flexible payment solutions for property marketing costs
  • Served as exclusive financial advisor to Travello on its $10M Series B capital raising, facilitating strategic investors to support growth across 180+ countries
  • Advised Simple on its acquisition of Admation, a marketing resource management software provider, combining two complementary marketing technology businesses

Prior experience

Before founding Coterie Capital, Daniel was a senior member of the flagship Australia Share Fund at Ellerston Capital, where the fund managed approximately $3.5 billion in funds under management. He previously held positions at Deutsche Bank and KPMG.

Education

Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting and Finance), University of New South Wales

About
